AILET Exam – What it is?

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a university entrance examination for admission to, LL.M., B.A. LL.B (Hons. ) and Ph.D. programs. The organising, NLU Delhi, also sets the exam date. Each year, around 25,000 people who want to practise law register. The (NLU) National Law University administers the AILET on the first Sunday of May each year.

The legal entrance examination at NLU Delhi is administered offline. The only National Law University that administers its own legal admissions test is NLU Delhi.

The ST/SC category has an age relaxation. The aspirant must fall under one of these categories and must not be older than 23 on July 1 of the admissions year.

Registration Process for the AILET Exam

The initial step in completing the admission procedure is the AILET registration. The applicant should be attentive to thoroughly complete the details:

Application Method for AILET Exam

Overview of the Exam Format for AILET in 2024–2025

There will now be three components in the AILET 2024–2025 Exam Format: Logical Reasoning, English Language, GK &, and Current Affairs.

Since there won’t be a Legal Aptitude portion in AILET Exam 2024–2025, if two or more aspirants receive the same score, their merit will be determined by which applicant received a higher score in the Logical Reasoning section.

The elder aspirants should be given preference if the contenders’ qualifications are equivalent. If the merit remains unchanged, a computerised random number generator should be employed.

Guidance for AILET 2023

For the Ph.D. & LLM degrees, separate counselling sessions are being held for AILET Exam 2023. The AILET Exam 2023 counselling procedure comprises student document submission, online registration, and document validation. AILET 2023 tentative admission list is made public by the institution following each round of counselling. Look over the sequential steps:

Step 2: These applicants must use their application number/ roll number and date of birth to check in to the admissions portal.

Step 3 also requires them to pay the counselling charge, upload the required paperwork, and print the acknowledgment sheet for their records.

Step 5: Before the deadline, the shortlisted aspirants must complete the online payment of the remaining registration fee using a credit card, debit card, net banking option, UPI, RTGS, or NEFT method.

AILET 2024 Results

In the third week of December 2023, the National Law University of Delhi will proviso announce the AILET 2024 results online. The university’s authorised website,, offers aspirants the ability to verify and download their results. To access their admission cards for the AILET test, aspirants must enter their registration number and birthdate. In the form of scorecards and combined merit lists, the university will make the AILET 2024 results public.

AILET Cutoff 2024

Following each session of counselling, the university announces the AILET 2024 cut-off. The final rank or minimum score needed for admission to NLU Delhi is the AILET cut-off 2024. Depending on their rank and score, applicants whose names do not appear on the first AILET cutoff or acceptance list may be given a spot in the next round. But if the applicant doesn’t make the cutoff rank for the last round, he or she will essentially be disqualified from the admissions process.
