UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam – Scheme & Syllabus of Exam

UPSC is inviting applications for UPSC Combined Medical Services Recruitment  2023. Candidates can apply for 687 vacancies in 4 posts namely:- 

  1. General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council
  2. Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways
  3. General duty Medical Officer Gr-II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation
  4. Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service

Plan of examination - UPSC Combined Medical Services Recruitment 2023

UPSC is conducting CMS 2023 to fill up the vacancies in New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Municipal Corporation. The examination for 687 vacancies shall be conducted in two fold manner.

  • Stage 1: Written test

Stage 2: Personality Test/ Personal Interview  

Written Examination - Part 1

Part 1 of the exam will be of 500 marks in total. This will consist of 2 papers, each of 2 hours and a maximum of 250 marks. Multiple choice questions will be asked. Candidates should choose only one correct answer. For every wrong answer marked, a 1/3rd of the total mark will be deducted. There is negative marking. The difficulty level of papers will be that of M.B.B.S. standard. The paper will be set only in english.

Personal Interview - Part 2

Part 2 of the exam will carry a weightage of 100 marks. Those who qualify the written test are eligible and will be called for a personal interview. Candidates are advised to stay confident and aware during the interview. Interviews are conducted for knowing how a candidate applies his theoretical knowledge to the practical world.
