SSC 2023 JE Exam Syllabus
The level of questions in engineering-related disciplines will roughly correspond to that of an Electrical/ Civil/Mechanical Engineering Diploma from an institution, board, or university that has been approved by the All-India Board of Technical Education. This year’s SSC JE Paper I and Paper II will both be administered online using (CBT) computer-based testing, according to changes made to the exam format by the SSC.

The SSC JE Syllabus includes a broad range of topics, such as Reasoning & General Intelligence, General Awareness, and other technical topics unique to the aspirant’s engineering discipline (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical). What's New in the SSC JE 2023 Exam Pattern?
From the previous pattern, the SSC 2023 JE Exam Format has been updated. There are two components to it: Paper I and Paper II. 200 (MCQs) multiple-choice questions are included in Paper 1’s (CBT) computer-based exam, which is broken up into three sections: general awareness (worth 50 marks), general intelligence & reasoning (worth 50 points), and technical subjects (worth 100 marks).
However, the SSC 2023 JE exam pattern has been altered for Paper II by the authorised notice. Now, SSC JE 2023 Paper-II will also be a multiple-choice test, objective, (MCQ) with 300 scores that will focus on technical areas and require aspirants to give thorough responses to a total of 100 questions. However, the ultimate merit and selection for the (JE) Junior Engineer are determined by both papers taken together.
SSC JE 2023 Exam Pattern for Paper 1
200 questions make up the SSC Junior Engineer Paper I CBT (Computer Based Test), which is an objective kind. 200 points are assigned to the first SSC JE Paper. Three components total make up SSC JE Paper 1. These include General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 Marks), General Awareness (50 Marks), and Technical Section (100 Marks), which includes Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Computer-based objective testing will be used for the SSC JE Paper I exam.
- The SSC JE Paper-II has a 200-mark maximum and a 2-hour time limit (or a 2-hour 40-minute time limit for aspirants who are scribes).
- In the SSC JE Paper I, there will be a negative grading of 0.33 marks.
- There will be Hindi and English questions.

SSC JE Exam Paper 2 Exam Format
The SSC 2023 JE Exam Format Paper 2 has questions of this nature. The weighted average for this paper is 300. Electrical engineering, Civil and structural engineering, and mechanical engineering will make up the three components. By their graduating stream, aspirants will only attempt one of these portions. The SSC JE 2023 Exam Format: Important Points to Bear in Mind
- If you receive a score that is equal to or greater than the minimal cut-off in SSC JE Paper I, you will be qualified to take the SSC JE 2023 Paper II exam. The SSC will choose the 2023 cut-off scores for the JE program.
- Only for the SSC JE Paper-II you are permitted to bring your own logarithm tables, calculator, slide rule, and steam table.
- For the SSC 2023 JE Paper-I, there won’t be any use of such instruments.
- Based on how well you did overall on SSC 2023 JE Paper I and SSC 2023 JE Paper II, your selection will be made.
Revised SSC 2023 JE Scoring Schedule 2023
In contrast to the previous 2022 cycle design, the SSC JE Exam 2023 test pattern has been updated according to the below-listed grading scheme.
- Previously, each incorrect response resulted in a deduction of 0.25 marks, or 1/4 of the total marks allocated for the question.
- In the new format, both Paper I and Paper II will now be docked at 0.33 points or 1/3 of the points allotted for each question.
