SSC CHSL Stages 2023

Tier-I: This paper will be performed online. In this section, contestants will have a total of sixty minutes to complete the exam. VH/OH applicants will be granted additional 20 minutes to try the test. For every erroneous answer, 1/4th points will be deducted.

Tier-II: Questions of an objective kind and multiple choice will make up the SSC CHSL Tier-II examination, with the exception of Module II of Section III. Both English and Hindi will be used for the question sets, with the exception of the Module II in Section II, which is the English Language and Comprehension module. Each incorrect answer you submit for Sections I, II, and Module I of Section III will result in a one-point deduction from your score. This is true of the total score. Candidates are highly recommended to keep this in mind while answering the questions in order to maximize their chances of success.

SSC CHSL Exam 2023 Syllabus (Tier-I):

English Language:

• Fill in the Blanks and Homonyms and Idioms, Synonyms and Homonyms, Antonyms, Find the Error, Spellings and Detecting Misspelt Words. One word substitution, Corrections Made to Sentences, Verbs in the Active and Passive Voices, Conversion of the narration into direct and indirect form, Rearrangement of individual Sentence Parts, Rearrangement of Sentences inside a Passage, Passages with a Cloze and a Comprehension Question.

General Intelligence:

• Questions might be either vocal or nonverbal. There will be questions on inference drawing, figural classification, semantic analogy, number series, semantic series, punched hole/pattern folding and unfolding, symbolic operations, space orientation, figural pattern folding and completion, symbolic/numerical analogy, trends, integrated figures, figural analogy, semantic classification, figural series, Venn diagrams, symbolic/numerical classification, critical thinking, problem solving, emotional maturity, and vocabulary.

Quantitative Aptitude:

• Number Systems: Calculating with Decimals and Fractions; Analyzing Number Relationships
• Fundamental arithmetical operations: Calculations including percentages, ratios and proportions, square roots, averages, simple and compound interest, profits and losses, discounts, business partnerships, mixture and aggregation, travel times, and labour hours.
• Mensuration: Regular right pyramids with a square or triangular base, parallelograms, triangles, and squares; triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons; a circle; a right prism; a right circular cone; a right circular cylinder; a sphere; and hemispheres.
• Algebra: Identification of elementary surds (basic problems) and linear equation graphs using the fundamental identities of school algebra.
• Geometry: Knowledge of fundamental geometric shapes and facts, such as the triangle and the many different types of centres it may have, Triangle congruence and similarity, the circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, and tangents that are common to two or more circles are all considered examples of congruence.
• Trigonometry: Calculations using trigonometry, trigonometric ratios, complementary heights, distances and angles (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin2? + Cos2?=1 etc.
• Statistical Charts: Employing Tables and Diagrams: Pie chart, Frequency polygon, Bar Chart and Histogram; Measures of central tendency: mean, median, mode, standard deviation; basic probability calculations Section I, Module II (Rationality and General Intelligence):

General Awareness:
The applicant will be asked questions that are intended to measure his or her broad understanding of the world around them and how that environment applies to society. Questions are also meant to evaluate a candidate’s knowledge of recent events as well as such issues of daily observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be anticipated of a person with a certain level of education.

In addition, there will be questions on the exam that apply to India and the neighboring countries, particularly in the areas of history, culture, geography, the economic scene, general policy, and scientific research.

Note: VH candidates with a 40% or more vision impairment will not be tested on their ability to read diagrams, graphs, maps, or statistical data in the General Intelligence and Quantitative Aptitude sections.

SSC CHSL Indicative Syllabus (Tier-II):

Module-I of Session-I (Mathematical Abilities):

• Number Systems: Calculating with Decimals and Fractions; Analyzing Number Relationships
• Geometry: The many different sorts of triangle centres, Identical and congruent triangles, Chords of a circle, tangents to that circle, the angles subtended by those chords, and the tangents that are shared by two or more circles.
• Mensuration: Triangles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, circles, right pyramids with square or triangular bases, right circular cones, right circular cylinders, spheres, and hemispheres.
• Fundamental arithmetical operations: Proportions, Ratios, and Percentages Averages, square roots, simple and compound interest, profit and loss Discount, Partnership Business, Combination, and Alignment Time and space, Work and time.
• Algebra: Elementary surds (simple problems), School Algebra, and Graphs of Linear Equations all use fundamental algebraic identities.
• Trigonometry: Basic trigonometric identities (such as sin2 + Cos2=1), complement angles, height, and distance (very basic issues), and so on.
• Statistics and Probability: Use of tables and graphs, including the bar diagram, histogram, frequency polygon and pie chart; measures of central tendency, including the mean, median, mode, and standard deviation; and computation of simple probabilities Module II of Section I (Reasoning and General Intelligence)

Module-II of Section-I (Reasoning and General Intelligence):
There will be spoken and nonverbal questions of various kinds.These will include questions on Trends, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Figural Analogy,
Venn Diagrams, Critical Thinking, Drawing inferences, Problem Solving, and Space Orientation. Additionally, there will be questions on Symbolic operations, Embedded figures, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Semantic Classification, and Symbolic/ Number Classification. Figural Series, Figural Classification, Semantic Analogy, Figural Series, Punched hole/pattern-folding and unfolding, Semantic Series,Emotional Intelligence, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Social Intelligence, Figural Classification, Coding and decoding, Figural Series, Word Building, Numerical operations, Punched hole/pattern-folding and unfolding, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series

Module-I of Section-II (English Language And Comprehension):

Modification of Sentences, One-word replacement, Comprehension Passage, Direct/Indirect Narration, Conversion, Rearrangement of Sentence Parts, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Rearrangement of Sentences in a Passage, grammar, synonyms, antonyms, and use; Identify the Error, Idioms & Phrases, sentence structure Fill in the Blanks, Antonyms, Spelling/Detecting misspelt words, Vocabulary, Synonyms/ Homonyms. To test your knowledge, you’ll be given two or more paragraphs and asked to answer questions based on them. Two paragraphs are required, one of which should be straightforward and based on a work of fiction or nonfiction, while the other should be more in-depth and based on an editorial or report on current events.

Module-II of Section-II (General Awareness):
The questions are meant to assess the applicants’ broad knowledge of their immediate surroundings and their ability to apply that knowledge to real-world situations. As may be anticipated of an educated individual, there will also be questions testing current events knowledge and the scientific side of commonplace observations and experiences. There will be questions on Indian and regional history, culture, geography, economics, government policy, and science in the exam as well.

Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I (Computer Proficiency):

• Basics of Computer: Computer hardware and software, including the central processing unit (CPU), PORTs,Windows Explorer, memory structure, computer memory, backup devices, input/output devices, and keyboard shortcuts.
• Software: Windows operating system with basic Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• The fundamentals of networking and cyber security: Computer networking fundamentals, including hardware, software, and security protocols, Security risks in computer networks and the steps taken to counteract them.
• WInternet and email work: Web browsing, search, download, account management, and e-banking are all examples of using the internet and emails. Those applying for VH who have a visual impairment of 40% or more will be excluded from the Diagrams/Graphs/Maps/Statistical Data portion of the Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning and General Intelligence tests.

Note: There will be no Maps/ Diagrams/ Statistical Data/ Graphs component in the Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning and General Intelligence modules for VH applicants with a visual impairment of 40% or above.

Preparation Strategies for SSC CHSL 2023 Exam
