Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Application method, Benefits & Eligibility!
The (MoHUA) Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna as its main project to deliver pucca residential “Housing for all” by 2023. The program’s major goal is to offer subsidies & advantages to the economically underprivileged groups in society so that they may directly help themselves by constructing a pucca house. The PMAY project was launched on 25th June 2015, and several laws and regulations relating to the criteria and characteristics for adding recipients have since been updated to encourage greater participation across society.
Among its most significant components is the PM Awas Yojna 2023, which includes the following:
- The subsidised interest rate slab on home loans for all recipients of the PMAY program is set at 6.50% annually for a 20-year term.
- When awarding ground floor dwellings, participants of the PMAY program who are senior citizens and those with disabilities would be given precedence.
- Utilisation of environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies in the building of homes under the PMAY program.
- The PMAY scheme majorly covers all the metropolitan areas, consisting of 4041 statutory towns, with 500 “Class I” cities receiving first attention. Three phases are intended for the completion of this.
- The credit-related subsidy plan is put into place from the very beginning of the process, and it is put into place in India in all the towns covered by the PMAY program.
